Americana Bluegrass Boys

Return to Previous Page

Prepare to be transported into the foothills of Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains by the talented hands of The Americana Bluegrass Boys. With guitar, banjo, mandolin and bass in tow, these guys reproduce an authentic old-time American sound that will carry you westward, all the way across the Atlantic, be it through their close vocal harmonies or in furiously fast versions of familiar Bluegrass classics, Beverly Hillbillies-style.

“An original Bluegrass band that embodies the very heart of rural American folk culture…”

The boys come prepared for a traditional American-style hoedown, and are suitably dressed to match such an occasion. With superb four-part vocal harmonies that would put a barbershop quartet to shame, there’s little left unchecked by a band that live, breathe and sweat Americana. They’re even capable of swapping round instruments, adopting and adapting each other’s techniques such as frayling and flatpicking, thereby bringing novelty, versatility and an element of showmanship to the stage, complementing and enhancing their highly-developed musical talent.

Should you wish to add more interactive hoedown fun to your evening’s entertainment, the band can bring along an additional barndance-caller who’ll get your guests into the swing of things. He’ll round up and corrall the partygoers on the dancefloor, experts and novices alike, explaining and demonstrating the steps and moves for each new dance. It’s all great fun and a brilliant icebreaker, especially at wedding reception parties!

Oh, and by the way, despite vociferous and fervent affirmations that they’re all from deepest Kentucky, The Americana Bluegrass Boys actually originate from the moors of North Staffordshire! ‘O Brother, Where Art Thou?’ – you’ve seen the movie, and now here’s some more of the music!
