No truly Irish party can really get going without such iconic treats as ‘The Star Of The County Down’, ‘Whiskey In The Jar’ or ‘The Wild Rover’. So it’s no great surprise that Manchester-based Blackbush naturally include all of those tried-and-tested classics in their typical performance.
“This experienced Irish band perform modern and traditional Irish favourites, with jigs and reels skilfully interspersed to suit your event…”
Blackbush’s rip-roaring demon fiddler will ensure you have the recipe for a great night out – toes will tap with a mind of their own and your feet just won’t be able to stay still! These days, the Irish canon is not complete without the best of The Pogues and Van Morrison, so rest assured, the most popular items will all be included in the Blackbush repertoire, plus a few more up-to-date but traditional-flavoured pop and rock songs.
The set-list can be expertly tailored to suit your event, with classics like ‘Haste To The Wedding’, ‘Have I Told You Lately I Love You’ and ‘Big Yellow Taxi’. For smaller events, a guitar/vocals and violin duo often fits the bill, but for the full-on Irish Rock Experience, a quartet or quintet with drums is generally required. The band comes equipped with a top-quality PA system producing a crystal-clear sound in venues of any size.
Introduce a genuine flavour of traditional entertainment, Dublin-style to your celebration party with Blackbush, Manchester’s foremost Irish band!

Blackbush – 60th Birthday Party: June 2017
Blackbush performed the music for our housewarming and a 60th birthday party. They were great providing both background but also tunes people wanted to dance to. The band created a fab atmosphere. Before the night it was easy to get in touch and they dealt with our queries speedily. We’re really pleased we booked them.

Rachel Faulkner’s Wedding
Blackbush performed at my sister Rachel’s wedding in December 2015. The band were brilliant! In fact, they were so good – I’ve just booked them for my own wedding in October this year!
