Mat Walklate’s Men perform the well known Irish songs that everyone knows and loves. They are indeed one of the best-known and deservedly most popular Irish bands in Manchester!
“Take talented musicians and traditional songs and tunes, then throw in a touch of the Blarney for a rousing Celtic party…”
Listen out for punchy guitar or mandola lines, with interweaving whistle, harmonica or flute, all securely underpinned by double-bass. Listen to Seamus’s powerful versions of all your favourite traditional Irish songs.
For larger events and larger audiences, a larger band might well be preferable, so Mat often augments the band in stages to include a versatile choice of fiddle, keyboards, melodeon, bodhran and drums in addition to the core line-up described above. With an excellent PA system producing a crystal-clear sound in any venue, you’re guaranteed a real Irish party night with Mat Walklate’s Men.

Sarah Howard’s Family Party –
I just thought I would drop you a quick email to say how fantastic the band were on Saturday. Everyone had a great time and enjoyed the songs, the jigs and reels and the dancing thoroughly. Please pass my thanks on to Mat and the band!
Patricias Mum’s Wedding –
I recently booked a duo from the band to play at my mum’s wedding in Bolton. They were brilliant. I would recommend this group to anyone who wishes to make their wedding a special event and really liven up the evening. Don’t bother with a DJ, what a waste of money. There were only 40 people at the evening reception, but Shamus and Danny really livened up the group and got them up singing and dancing. I only wish I had another event up and coming, so I could book them again.
