The Swing Set presents a unique blend of favourite ‘Ratpack’-era swing, sophisticated jazz standards and legendary soul classics, all delivered with a distinctive modern twist. OK, where else would you hear ‘Wonderwall’ by Oasis presented as a swing number in authentic Sinatra style?
“Superb arrangements and stylish musicianship topped with stunning vocals and liberally laced with plenty of energy – great Swing Jazz!”
The musical repertoire played by The Swing Set, especially the well-known swing jazz classics from the Great American Songbook, have been professionally arranged to recreate the unmistakeable sound of a Glenn Miller-style Big Band, but performed by an ensemble only half the size.
Young, enthusiastic musicians with plenty of entertainment experience form the core of this exciting ensemble. The optimum line-up comprises piano, bass, drums, trumpet, trombone and saxophones, fronted by and showcasing one of the finest male jazz vocalists on the London scene today. The Swing Set can readily be scaled down for smaller, more intimate events, either with a leaner brass section or entirely without horns.
Any permutation of a smaller ensemble can also be provided for such occasions, or as a warm-up for a full band – from solo piano, guitar/vocal duo, piano/bass/drums trio to a saxophone quartet. A guitarist and a female vocalist are also offered, either as alternatives or as optional extras.
Always planning a professional performance, the band carries a high-quality PA system that produces an excellent sound in venues of any size.
- Sophisticated swing jazz classics interspersed with modern hits
- Flexible line-up, adaptable to social events of all types and sizes
- Self-contained and fully-equipped with a high-quality PA system

Christine’s Private Party –
I just wanted to say a huge thank you to you and all of the band who played for us on Saturday. They were absolutely fantastic and everyone danced all evening. In fact the only problem was we almost had a riot when the evening came to an end because none of our guests wanted them to stop !! You have been so efficient and helpful from the outset and I am so grateful for your part in making this evening such a success.
Julie Dunford’s Wedding –
Just a quick note to once again thank you for everything in the lead up to our wedding in July. The band was fantastic – please pass on my thanks! Many guests commented on how good they all were and I would not hesitate in recommending The Swing Set in the future.
