London-based Caribbean Heatwave steel pan combo play a cool mix of Soca (the carnival party vibe), Calypso and some really funky Ska and Reggae. The band can provide background music for a drinks reception, but with full-on vocals from lead singer Geddes, the band can also provide exciting Caribbean-style party music in the evening.

“Limbo dancing, Reggae, Soca and Ska party music gets everyone onto the dance floor.”

The group play a vibrant mixture of traditional calypso, reggae, soca and ska, fused with classic Latin salsa – plenty of scope for dancing! Want to include limbo dancing? Geddes will organise a limbo competition for you!

For a large evening party, a quintet including drums is the best option, although smaller or larger combinations are available on request, depending on the type of entertainment required. As well as the steel pans, the band includes bass guitar, rhythm guitar and a variety of percussion add depth and texture to the music. To set a sunny atmosphere at an afternoon wedding drinks reception, a duo or trio of steel pans, performing acoustically would be an ideal addition.

All of the members of Caribbean Heatwave originate from one or other of the West Indian islands. Whatever the line-up, the band will present a stylish and professional show, and their enthusiasm for their music shines through in every performance! Let Caribbean Heatwave bring a summery slice of laid-back carnival beach-party magic to your special celebration.

Tropical Heatwave Quartet – Birthday Party: May 2017

May I say a big thank you for all your support on the occasion of our party. It was truly a wonderful evening. Everyone said it was the best party that they had been to. The music was brilliant and the atmosphere equally great. Your steel band Tropical Heatwave is the best I’ve heard. Thank you for also arranging the DJ and the fire eater/limbo dancer. It was a brilliant evening. I would gladly pass your details on to anyone wanting a truly wonderful evening.

    Yours Sincerely,

    Philip Hayter

I just want to thank you for your performance yesterday, Nat, myself and all our wedding guests loved the music. You guys set such a good vibe. With the weather the good sounds and the food who would have known we were in England! Nat works in events and will be recommending you to clients.

    All the best

My first experience of a live steel band was listening to “Caribbean Heatwave” on board P & O cruise ship Ventura. And what an experience!! Heatwave gave passengers a wonderful Caribbean musical introduction, playing lots of popular reggae and traditional songs, but coupled with well-known ballads and even some wonderful jazz numbers which went down a treat when we were in New Orleans. The leader of the group was amazing to watch (he plays with four sticks) and showed his huge personality, skill and talent as he produced fantastic sounds from two pans. Great to watch a consummate performer in action. I wish him well, and his band.
