The popularity of Latin-American Salsa in all its forms and styles is clearly due to its irresistibly danceable rhythmic character. The beat is magnetic!
“Scorching Latin sounds with red-hot vocals and sizzling cross-rhythms create a storming party atmosphere…”
The Latin band Palenke was originally formed in 1990 around the collective talents of Fernando ‘Kinacho’ Suarez and Lisandro Zapata. Kinacho’s Salsa & Latin is Fernando’s personal “take” on the Columbian experience. The band’s colourful presentation is passionate, dynamic and eminently danceable. Adriana’s magnetic voice and sensual dancing captivates the eye as well as the ear – it’s no wonder that she is widely known as ‘The Queen Of Salsa’. She’s supported by the instrumental musicians, who contribute tight and exciting harmony vocals plus the occasional male lead.
The traditional Latin-American rhythm section of congas, bongos and timbale creates a carnival feel as soon as the band strikes up. Filling out the sound texture and adding harmonic interest, piano, guitar and bass complete the line-up. Look forward to the characteristically hot-blooded tempos of Cuban Salsa and Brazilian Lambada, freely intermingled with traditional folk rhythms of Colombian Cumbia or Dominican Merengue.
The musicians are certainly not lacking high-profile performance experience, and over the years the band has entertained Prince Charles, the late King Hussein of Jordan and King Juan Carlos of Spain. Fully-equipped with a high-quality PA system which is designed to be adaptable for venues of all types and audiences of any size, this exuberant ensemble offers all the ingredients to set your celebration alight with Latino fever.
The vibrant percussion-led rhythms of traditional South American carnival music are let loose with Kinacho’s Salsa & Latin. Strictly Come Dancing, anyone?
