Special Brew Irish

Return to Previous Page

No strangers to the folk scene, Special Brew have for a number of years been steadily establishing an enviable reputation playing their music at clubs and festivals throughout the North West of England. However, the musical pedigree of the individual players that make up their ensemble goes back much further. Each of them has a broad history of playing with a variety of different bands for rather longer than they might admit to.

“Vibrant Celtic-flavoured music, performed with confident presentation and lubricated with plenty of fun and frolics, all combines to make a splendid party…”

Special Brew play the best of traditional and contemporary Irish songs and instrumental music. The band generates a joyful atmosphere at their live performances, irrespective of the nature or style of the event, guaranteed to have audiences up on their feet, dancing, clapping and singing.

Seasoned performers on festival stages throughout the UK, these guys have plenty of experience of playing to large audiences under their belts, as well as countless club nights and private party appearances. You can expect a broad repertoire of Celtic-influenced folk and swing … but rest assured, you diehard traditionalists, all of your favourite Irish songs will as a matter of course be included in a typical Special Brew performance.

If you like organised traditional country dances in the form of a barndance or ceilidh, Special Brew will bring an experienced ‘caller’ with them to explain and demonstrate the steps and moves. The band comes equipped with a top-quality self-contained PA system, adaptable to all venues.

Look forward to a night of excellent ‘craic’ as Special Brew deliver captivating presentations of the best traditional and contemporary Irish music.
